With 2017 fast approaching, rumours around Samsung’s next big flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S8, are increasing. The latest one suggesting that the phone will be coming with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The report comes from TechTastic, which sourced the information from Chinese source on Weibo.
Depending on the region,Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumoured to be powered by the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC or Samsung’s very own Exynos 9 Series SoC. Galaxy S8 is expected to be the first smartphone to come with Snapdragon 835, which features Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging.
The upcoming Samsung flagship is also expected to feature a dual-rear camera setup on the larger model, along with a pressure sensitive display – designed to replace the physical home button and capacitive keys.An earlier post on Weibo hinted at the S8 featuring a curved 5.1-inch 2K SuperAMOLED display, and the larger 5.5-inch version sporting a 4K display.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is also expected to come equipped with the Viv AI assistant. Samsung acquired the assistant after itpurchased Viv Labs, a Silicon Valley startup in October. An earlier report from Korea’s TheInvestor hinted that Samsung will be doing away with the 5.1-inch displayfrom the S7 in favour of the a new ‘Plus’ version with a 6.2-inch display.
The 6.2-inch phone is expected to come with a bezel-less design, but will feature a curved display. The report said that Samsung will be bringing out the 5.7-inch version of the phone, carried forward from the Samsung Galaxy S7.
With the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 programme cancelled and the Samsung name dragged through the mud with the phone’s exploding history; the South Korean giant has a lot riding on its Samsung Galaxy S8.
